Options we recommend in order of cost: (1) insulate and seal the garage door + add a portable heater and dehumidifier for basic use, (2) install a mini-split heat pump for year-round conditioned comfort ($3,500–$6,000 typical install), (3) fully insulate walls and ceiling and extend home HVAC (larger investment, often done as part of a broader garage finish).

Garage Door Considerations — Yes, You Can Keep It Functional
