This started in a basement that “wasn’t tall enough.”

Designed Golf Simulators was founded by people who play golf, lose sleep over their handicap, and got tired of hearing every other installer say “your space won’t work.” We bought the launch monitors, swung in our own basements, learned where the real constraints live (and where they don’t), and built a company around one promise: tell us your space, and we’ll engineer a real simulator into it.

We aren’t a franchise. We aren’t a call center. We’re a small team of golfers, contractors, AV installers, and lighting techs who live in the St. Louis metro and care more about your ball flight data than upselling you on a screen size you don’t need. Every design we ship is one we’d happily put in our own home.

Any home can host a golf simulator. We’ll prove it on the walkthrough.

There are three things homeowners say to us on day one, and we have an answer for every one of them:

• “My ceilings are too low.” Tour-level launch monitors like Foresight GCQuad and Uneekor EYE XO work in ceilings as low as 8′6″ with the right setup. We’ve installed in rooms that golf retail stores would have walked away from.
• “My basement is too narrow / too short / has a support column.” We design around columns, off-center swings, lefty/righty combos, and short hitting depths every week. Constraints are an engineering problem — not a deal-breaker.
• “It’ll look like a man-cave with a screen in it.” Our installs hide cables in trim, color-match enclosures to your walls, and include real lighting design so the room still looks like part of the house when the simulator is off.

If your space genuinely can’t support a simulator, we’ll tell you on the consultation — free, and without a sales pitch. We just have not seen many of those rooms.

Golf simulators aren’t a luxury. They’re how serious golfers train.

A home simulator stopped being a novelty roughly a decade ago. Today, an indoor practice bay is closer to standard equipment for any golfer who is trying to actually get better — including the people you watch on Sunday.

The biggest single predictor of handicap improvement isn’t talent — it’s frequency of meaningful reps. The USGA’s own handicap data and decades of coaching research point to the same thing: golfers who practice consistently year-round shoot lower scores than golfers who go cold for four to six months.

In St. Louis, outdoor golf realistically runs March through November. That leaves roughly a third of every year where most golfers lose feel, lose distance, and start the spring rebuilding what they already had. A home simulator closes that gap:
